TWO IN ONE FLESH
Fourth Sunday of Easter
(Acts of the Apostles 4:8-12 1 John 3:1-2 John 10:11-18)
We lay down our lives, we go beyond…
Couples can relate to the notion of ‘shepherding’ with regards to their children: “I know my own and my own know me”. Even in crowds, our children will recognise our voices and we theirs. Also, just as Jesus spoke today of ‘laying down His life’, when marrying, we made a solemn vow to lay down our lives for one another.
“The personal encounter with Christ through reading the Word of God together at home constitutes an inspired source of daily living for couples.”
The Synod Fathers
“MARRIAGE MATTERS offers a wonderful resource to couples to help them relate to the Sunday scripture readings and so enhance their love for one another."
Bishop Peter Doyle

MARRIAGE MATTERS are inspiring and very human considerations which can sow seeds of hope, offer meaningful challenges and encourage an openness in couples to deepen their relationship with each other and with God.
Bishop Jean Laffitte, Secretary to the Pontifical Council for the Family, has himself written the very positive and encouraging Foreword for this unique online resource.
We encourage you to download and use these in your Parish and Diocesan newsletters, anywhere that will help raise the profile of marriage.
